Designed with a smooth, ergonomic rubber grip, the A250 allows for a comfortable yet secure hold for any size hand at any angle. This multifunctional surface scanner utilizes the most recent technology in density detecting software and circuitry.
The A250 features a 4-mode selector switch, making it easy to change functions. The ultra-bright LCD screen, patented SpotLite Pointing System, and audio tone all indicate the location of the target. The Zircon scanner also comes equipped with a Signal Strength Indicator that helps to distinguish between shallow and deep targets.
The MultiScanner A250 includes a backlit display for hard-to-see places and ACT (Auto Correcting Technology) that automatically corrects common user errors, such as when scanning begins over a stud. Additionally, it has a Low Battery Indicator to alert users to replace the battery for optimal performance.
The tool constantly scans its surroundings and recalibrates itself if necessary. The scanner has 2 stud scanning modes to locate the center, edges, and direction of wood and metal studs and joists behind walls, floors, and ceilings. In StudScan Mode, the MS A250 scans up to 0.75 of an inch (19 mm) deep, and in DeepScan Mode, the scanning depth doubles to 1.5 inches (38 mm).
Metal Scan Mode locates non-ferrous metal, such as copper pipes, up to 1.5 inches (38 mm) deep and ferrous metal, such as rebar, up to 3 inches (75 mm) deep. This mode can find studs behind lath and plaster walls, tile, drywall, and stucco walls by identifying the consistent pattern of screw or nail heads in the studs.
The A250 is programmed with a WireWarning Detection feature that indicates the presence of live, unshielded electrical wires up to 2 inches (50 mm) deep when using StudScan, DeepScan, and Metal Scan Mode. Additionally, the A250 includes AC Scan Mode to detect, locate, map, and trace live wires.
